Apply to the effected area at least three times a day. Our Healing Butter can be applied as often as needed and we recommend applying whenever you have the urge to scratch. My daughter Jenaya was born premature and developed an infection called NEC. She had surgery and ended up with a stoma. Her skin was dry and she later developed a severe case of eczema. This infant had a protracted stay in the hospital for medical reasons. During her stay I noted that she had thick leathery skin, which over time became very scaly and friable. There was severe involvement of the scalp. At one stage it got so severe that any rubbing with alcohol would cause the skin to bleed. As a result of the friability of the skin, a central line site became infected and the line had to be removed. At this time she had aquaphor being applied after the bath.
