I love my natural hair. It really is like creating a new life partner! We fight and bicker sometimes but at the end of the day I don’t know what I’d do without her. Going natural has forced me to appreciate my hair as it is and not what I think I want it to be. I went to NYC for my big chop. I went to Soween’s Salon in Brooklyn. As she went to cut off the first piece a squeeled in terror, excitement, fear, and happiness. Of course like a baby I cried. Then as I looked at all the pieces of hair on the floor around me I realized I had a huge afro. I immediately felt different in the best way possible. I felt like I had looked in the mirror and met a new person.
